Our Unique Services

Explore a diverse range of creative arts therapies designed for emotional well-being.

Music & Imagery Therapy

Music & Imagery is a short-term, goal-oriented therapy designed to support emotional wellbeing and personal growth. It can be used to address specific challenges or to explore underlying patterns that may be influencing your health, behaviour, or overall quality of life.

Through a combination of verbal reflection, music-listening, and creative expression (such as drawing, writing, or other forms of art that feel comfortable to you), clients are guided to access inner resources, gain new perspectives, and foster deeper self-awareness. No prior experience of art or music is required.

Therapeutic Focus

  • Developing resilience and effective coping strategies for managing stress

  • Enhancing self-confidence, self-worth, and emotional regulation

  • Strengthening inner resources to support wellbeing

Sessions

  • 8-week course:  one assessment session followed by seven weekly/fortnightly sessions (60 - 75 minutes each)

  • Offered in individual or group formats

  • Available in-person and online

Client Suitability

Music & Imagery therapy is suitable for a wide range of ages and can be adapted to meet individual needs and goals.

Guided Imagery & Music

Engage in a focused exploration of the issues, patterns, and challenges influencing your life. Therapy can be structured as short or longer-term work, depending on your individual needs.

Sessions may support personal development, emotional wellbeing, or help address creative blockages.

Therapy is available in-person or online, offering flexibility and accessibility.

Guided Imagery & Music (GIM)

GIM integrates relaxation and music-listening to facilitate imagery, insight, and self-awareness. With guidance and support, you'll journey through your inner imagery to safely explore areas of life you wish to understand, heal, or develop.

Sessions

GIM is typically offered as a course of 6, 10, or more sessions, each lasting 90 - 120 minutes. Sessions are usually fortnightly, though frequency can be adapted according to individual need.

Music Breathing

Support for stress, trauma, and the nervous system

Music Breathing is an adaptation of Guided Imagery & Music, developed by Dr Dag Körlin. It combines mindful breathing, music-listening, and neuropsychological principles to support self-regulation and emotional integration.

Sessions begin with Silent Breathing, introducing breath awareness as a grounding and stabilising technique. Music is then incorporated to accompany the breathing process; synchronising music and breath, and supporting deeper regulation of physiological and emotional states.

Sessions

  • Duration: 60 - 75 minutes

  • Frequency: Two sessions in the first week, followed by one session per week for six weeks

  • Format: Available in-person and online

Through this process, clients often notice a greater sense of balance and resilience. Regular sessions can help regulate the nervous system, widen the Window of Tolerance, and support the processing and integration of life experiences.

Mindful Music Relaxation Groups & Workshops

These sessions provide a structured yet welcoming space to pause, unwind, and engage in creative self-exploration. Participants are invited to connect with others in a supportive environment that encourages mindfulness, relaxation, and personal growth. Each session concludes with the option to share tea, cake, and informal conversation for those who wish to remain a little longer.

Available as therapy groups or workshops, for individuals or organisations.

Clinical Supervision

Supervision for Arts Psychotherapists & Music & Imagery Therapists (including trainees)

  • Individual supervision: 60 minutes

  • Available in-person and online.

I offer individual clinical supervision for Arts Psychotherapists and Music & Imagery Therapists who wish to deepen their reflective practice and feel supported in their professional journey. My aim is to create a safe, creative, and compassionate space where you can explore your work, develop your confidence, and stay connected to what inspires and sustains you as a therapist.

My experience covers a wide range of clinical areas, including:

  • Physical and emotional well-being

  • PTSD and complex trauma

  • Learning disabilities and PMLD

  • Autism and sensory processing difficulties

  • Challenging behaviour and communication disorders

  • Mental health (adults and young people)

  • Dementia, terminal illness, and end-of-life care

  • Individual and group Music & Imagery Therapy

I also offer supervision specifically for Music & Imagery Therapy trainees.

With over a decade of experience in residential settings, I bring a grounded understanding of both clinical complexity and cultural and religious contexts. From 2009 to 2019, took part in a project in Minsk, Belarus, co-facilitating training for care staff on using music as a form of emotional communication—part of a Music Therapy colleague’s PhD research. During that time, I also offered live supervision and gained rich experience supporting therapists and care teams in dynamic environments. I have since spent over ten years as a Placement Manager, helping trainees navigate their clinical placements and grow into their professional roles.

My supervision style is psychodynamically informed, drawing on psychoanalytic theory alongside integrative approaches to suit the individual needs of each supervisee. I have a particular interest in trauma, holistic practice, and the relationship between emotional and physical health. I also work with the therapeutic use of the voice and offer Music & Imagery for therapists as an optional method for exploring transference and countertransference processes.

Fees:

  • £50 per supervision

  • £55 if images/music are required to be revied in advance of Music & Imagery supervision
